Katie and Michael got married at The Camellia Gardens in Marshallville last Saturday! It was a beautiful wedding. Debbie organized everything. Mama did the wedding cake and the grooms cake. Daddy built the arch they were married under. It was just a gorgeous wedding all the way around and the weather was perfect!

I think the cutest part of the day was the father daughter dance. It started as a slow song about daddy's and daughters and then it sounded like someone scratched a record and started a medley of dance songs "Everybody Dance Now"; "Billy Jean"; "The Macarena"; "The Electric Slide"; and some others. Katie and Brian had worked up a little dance routine! Brian just loves to dance and Katie just loves her daddy! She also had a special dance with her Papa (my daddy) and her Papa Sam (my other daddy). Everybody cried and cried! Guess that's what weddings are for.

I sang "The Prayer" during the ceremony! I was really nervous about singing - I just knew I'd break down in tears and it's hard to sing that way!! I told everyone I was going to sing with my eyes closed because if I looked at anyone I would burst into tears. But, I was very proud of myself, I looked and Katie & Michael the whole time I sang as they lit the unity candle! Of course, when I sat back down I did burst into tears! Margaret played the keyboard for the whole thing. She is so amazing!! It sounded like an orchestra behind me :) ok, well, maybe a quartet!! Wayne recorded me singing on his camera and if I get really bold I may post it.

Sunday Sunday

Okay. Do you believe in signs? I'm not sure, but I have to tell you the boys and I were NOT meant to go to church this morning!! Ryan was having a bad morning (no surprise there), I was running behind (again, you may ask, is this unusual), and the suburban was almost outta gas! So, I told the kids to jump in the Wayne's truck.

I thought I had already resolved the world conflict over front seat domination, but I was nearly deadly wrong. As the boys approached the gate, Ryan decided if he could make it to the front seat of the truck first he might reestablish his front seat dominance and lay aside my previous ruling. (What do they think this is? A democracy or something??) Well, as Ryan tried to push past Chase to get through the still opening gate, he tripped the gate sensor. For those of you who don't know, the gate is wooden and closes an opening big enough for 2 full-sized vehicles to pass through. It is over 1000 lbs. When the sensor tripped on the gate it started to close and yes, closed on Chase.

OMG!!!! I had a heart attack as I ran to push the button to release Chase. Luckily, he wasn't hurt, but it was still heart wrenchingly scary!!! By the time I read Ryan the Riot Act and calmed down enough to breathe, it was too late to go to church. Ryan tried to say Chase closed the gate on himself on purpose to frame Ryan and get him in trouble. I see a future in the CIA for Ryan. They are good at conspiracies and double crosses and such!! Anyway, we all caught our breath, calmed down, and vegged on the couch with Wayne instead of going to church.

After veggie time, we went to lunch with Nicole and her bunch, Mama, and Sydney and her friend Samantha. I la la la love these Sunday lunches together!!! We laughed and cut up and it was great. We even teased Ryan about trying to kill his brother and he didn't have a melt down over it!!!!

Try Again

Carpool Blues

Okay, Chase and Ryan go to school in Macon. North Macon. Far far away Macon. Luckily, I carpool with two great families and it is working out really well. I drive every third week to and from school. Of course, that means getting up at 5 a.m. and as you all know I am such a morning person!!! I hit the road around 6:45 a.m. (barring road blocks such as "I don't want to get up!" "he touched me!" "did not!" "Uh-oh" "I forgot my ________!!!") By the time I pick up our carpoolers, we get on I-75 between 7:20 and 7:30. My boys usually sleep the whole way. Chris – a senior – zones out with his iPod and that pretty much leaves me and Brittney! Brittney is my very special friend and I love her to death! She certainly keeps me awake in the mornings!! As much as I dread being on the road 4 hours a day on carpool weeks, I really look forward to Brittney! She is always happy and excited (very very excited!!) She tells me she loves me everyday and always has a hug for me! On Fridays, she tells me she will miss me and cry for me for the next two weeks! I sure am glad her folks found me so we can ride together!!!

This morning I looked out my window and saw this hawk perched on top of a tree. He hung around long enough for me to get dressed, get my camera, find fresh batteries for my camera, wake Chase up & tell him to get dressed and get his camera, and then go out and take his picture!! Isn't he beautiful!!!

The End . . . . . .

. . . . . . of 2007! Nicole has inspired me to start blogging. I want to be just like Nicole when I grow up, only not the early morning part, or the perky part, and definately not the pancake part! Oh, and not the hair part, or the hammering part. Okay, well, maybe I will just work on being a better me :)
